Moto G8 Plus with 48MP triple cameras launched in India at Rs 13,999

Lenovo-owned Motorola today launched the Moto G8 Plus in India. Featuring 48-megapixel triple camera setup on the back and a 25-megapixel selfie camera, the Moto G8 Plus might as well be the most aggressively priced Motorola smartphone in India in the recent past.

The Moto G8 Plus price in India is Rs 13,999 for the sole 4GB + 64GB variant. It comes in Cosmic Blue and Crystal Pink colours and will go on sale on Flipkart from the end of October.

Moto G8 Plus specifications

The Moto G8 Plus follows the template set by competing smartphones from rival companies. It has a 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and a waterdrop notch on the top.

The Moto G8 Plus runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, but Motorola has promised that it will be upgraded to Android 10 in the future, in addition to getting security patches for 2 years. In terms of performance, the Moto G8 Plus is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset which is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

On the back, the Moto G8 Plus has a triple camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera with Samsung GM1 sensor, PDAF dual LED flash. It also has a 16-megapixel ultrawide angle camera with Quad Pixel technology and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with Laser Autofocus. The waterdrop notch on the front houses a 25-megapixel selfie camera.

Other features of the Moto G8 Plus include a fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby audio support and splash resistant coating. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery.
